Wrapping 2022: A Message from the Chief Executive

2022 End of Year Message from Diane Vernon MBE

A note from Diane Vernon MBE, Chief Executive at EmployabilityUK, heading into the new year.

We’ve made some excellent progress this year and completed some truly exciting programmes, notably the Tech Boss Challenge with Kagool, the conclusion of Inspiring Young Birmingham around the Commonwealth Games and the continuation of our longstanding partnership with Coventry Building Society.

2022 also marked the end of the DWP’s Kickstart scheme, which enabled us to work with other businesses to develop their employability skills offerings, and also for us to work with some excellent young talent through our own placements. Each of our ‘Kickstarters’ made an impact on the charity through new ideas and influence. Many of them went on to find fantastic roles, and some remain with us to this day in highly influential roles within the organisation.

Above all, EmployabilityUK’s goal remains to boost the prospects and enhance the aspirations of young people through our programmes. 2022 has seen us do just that, and we have reached and helped over 250 young people this year.

We fully expect 2023 to be an even bigger and better year for the charity, with work already well underway on our most ambitious project yet.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our team, volunteers, supports and everyone else that has helped make EmployabilityUK’s 2022 what it was, and I very much look forward to working with you on delivering our mission in new and hugely exciting ways next year.

To a pleasant Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Di.

The EmployabilityUK offices close at 5pm on 23 December 2023 and will reopen at 9am on 3 January 2023.
