Transforming Access to Meaningful Work Experience
What Is National Work Experience Month?
National Work Experience Month is a new national initiative reshaping how young people gain real-world workplace exposure.
Led by EmployabilityUK, National Careers Week, and the AEBP, it creates a structured, consistent and equitable national model — moving work experience from ad-hoc activity to genuine delivery infrastructure.
Built to tackle barriers including access, quality, safeguarding and employer capacity, the initiative completes the journey from careers insight to real experience.
Delivered through National Employability Month, the UK’s largest employability platform, the programme engages employers, schools, colleges and policymakers nationwide.
Access
More young people can participate in high-quality work experience.
Quality
Clearer expectations and consistent national standards.
Safeguarding
Stronger shared protections across all partners.
Capacity
A model designed to support employer delivery at scale.
