Ravi Bains appointed EmployabilityUK’s first Brand Ambassador

One of the UK’s leading social care entrepreneurs and renowned sector experts Ravi Bains has been appointed by education charity EmployabilityUK as its first brand ambassador.

Employability UK designs bespoke employability skills programmes for businesses to help them deliver high quality employee volunteering opportunities that raise the aspirations and career prospects of the young people they help. Through forging strong partnerships with businesses, the charity aims to provide immediate and long-term support that ultimately helps prepare more young people for the workplace.  As Ravi is a shining example of how hard work and community values can lead to business success, the charity felt he was an excellent fit as brand ambassador.

Having grown up in Wolverhampton, Ravi identified the failure of mainstream homecare providers to recognise and address the needs of BAME communities. This, and Ravi’s sense of community spirit, ‘seva,’ in Punjabi, inspired him to create a domiciliary care provider Sevacare in 1998, following a career in the property sector. His goal was to fulfil the unmet care needs in his local community.

Now known as Grosvenor Health and Social Care and encompassing a number of brands, including Sevacare and Liberty Support Services, the company quickly expanded from its humble beginnings in his parents’ garage to the largest family-owned care company in the UK with offices throughout the Midlands.

Di Vernon, Chief Executive of EmployabilityUK, said “We are delighted to welcome Ravi to the charity and are looking forward to working with him and his team on a range of exciting projects. As we launch Inspiring Young Birmingham, we are at the start of an exciting new phase of the charity’s growth and Ravi’s business expertise will be invaluable to us”.

In his role as brand ambassador Ravi will help Employability UK by fundraising, providing mentoring and raising the charity’s profile through his network of business contacts.

Ravi commented: “If there is one charity to get involved with, it is this one. I am excited to get on board and leverage my support. Through the innovation and quality delivery from EmployabilityUK, we have a perfect opportunity to help businesses exercise Corporate Social Responsibility effectively and make a real and lasting difference to Birmingham’s future talent and the next generation of employees.”
