About National Employability Week™ (NEW)

Launched in 2025 and led by EmployabilityUK, NEW is a dynamic celebration of employability, career exploration, and youth opportunity. It showcases real-world pathways and practical skills, connecting young people with inspiring employers, training providers, and role models.

Role Purpose

As an Ambassador, you’ll be the voice of your generation — helping to shape, share, and champion National Employability Week™. You’ll raise awareness of the week, represent young people’s views, and inspire others to get involved.

This is a brilliant opportunity to gain leadership experience, build your confidence, and be part of something exciting and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a positive advocate for National Employability Week™ in your school, college, university, youth group, or community.
  • Promote events and opportunities linked to NEW via social media, word of mouth, or student networks.
  • Contribute ideas to help make NEW relevant, accessible, and engaging for young people.
  • Attend and participate in selected online meetings or briefings (e.g. training, campaign updates).
  • Share your story – through a blog, quote, video or testimonial – to encourage others.
  • Optionally: Support local events, host Q&As, or speak to groups of peers or educators.

You don’t need any special experience – just enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for making a difference. We welcome young people aged 16–24 who are:

• Confident communicators or keen to grow in confidence
• Interested in careers, skills, or helping others
• Willing to speak up and share their perspective
• Comfortable using social media or digital tools
• Reliable, friendly, and team-oriented
