Empowering the Next Generation: A Day at Coundon Court School
The commencement of a new academic year is often met with anticipation and excitement, especially for the senior students. This year, for the Year 13 students of Coundon Court School in Coventry, it was not just about textbooks and assignments but an opportunity to prepare for their future.
A Day of Personal Development
We at EmployabilityUK were thrilled to have been invited to Coundon Court School to conduct our bespoke Personal Development workshops. These sessions, meticulously designed for over 100 students, revolved around inspiring, educating, and equipping youth with essential skills to navigate their forthcoming career paths successfully.
Setting the Tone
Harun Rabbani, a well-renowned speaker, kickstarted the day with an enthralling keynote. His words set the stage for what turned out to be a phenomenal day filled with motivation, personal growth, and invaluable learning.
Dive into Workshops
The students had the chance to immerse themselves in a diverse range of workshops:
- The A-Z of Super Confidence: An initiative to boost the self-confidence and self-esteem of the students, preparing them for both academic and professional challenges.
- CV Writing: A hands-on session on crafting impactful CVs that stand out in the competitive job market.
- Interview Preparation: Offering insights and strategies to excel during job interviews.
- Finance and Budgeting: Our colleagues from HSBC delved into the intricacies of managing finances and the importance of budgeting.
A Platform for Discussion
Amidst the larger sessions, smaller group discussions were facilitated by our dedicated volunteers. This provided students with an intimate setting to engage in conversations about their aspirations, goals, and potential career paths. The discussions were rich with stories of resilience, insights into changing labour markets, and the evolving landscape of recruitment and business ethics.
Celebrating our Volunteers
The immense success of this event lies heavily on the shoulders of our committed volunteers. A huge thank you to Krystyna Nosek, Laura Lawrence, Nabeelah Begum., Nigel Vernon, Steve Knowles, Deepa Patel, and Lynsey Akroyd for their unwavering dedication.
