EmployabilityUK has announced the formation of its new Enterprise & Partnership Board, bringing together senior leaders from business, education and civic organisations to support the charity’s next phase of growth.
The Board will be chaired by Khalid Mahmood, with Katie McPhilimey appointed as Vice Chair. Members include a distinguished group of leaders committed to strengthening employability, workforce readiness and social mobility across the UK.
In recent years, the charity has evolved into a more systems-focused organisation, developing a structured, scalable approach that connects preparation, experience and progression. At the heart of this is an integrated model that brings together:
- the VITA programme
- the EmployabilityUK Skills Passport
- National Work Experience Month
- National Employability Week
Together, these initiatives are designed to move beyond fragmented activity and deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes for young people.
A key moment for EmployabilityUK
Diane Vernon MBE FIEP, Chief Executive of EmployabilityUK, said:
“The establishment of our Enterprise & Partnership Board marks an important moment for EmployabilityUK. We have built a strong foundation through delivery, and we are now focused on scaling a system that works.
This Board brings together the leadership, influence and expertise needed to help us do that.
We are a specialist employability partner, focused on what genuinely improves outcomes for young people – building confidence, developing capability and enabling clear progression. With the support of this Board, we are well placed to strengthen partnerships, expand our reach and deliver lasting impact.”
Khalid Mahmood, Chair of the Enterprise & Partnership Board, added:
“I am honoured to have been elected Chair at such an important time for the organisation. We have brought together an outstanding group of experienced leaders who share a genuine commitment to creating opportunities, strengthening employability and improving outcomes for young people and communities.
I look forward to working closely with the Board, Di Vernon and the wider team to turn ambition into action and help drive meaningful, lasting impact.”
